Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

We have an immediate opening for a full-time Director, Sourcing and Procurement- Facilities. We are looking for a Facilities and Construction subject matter expert, who will be responsible for strategic sourcing of Facilities Opex Projects and Capital Construction Projects for a client in Charleston, SC. Extreme focus will be placed on your knowledge and experience running procurement activities for Facilities Operations and Capital Projects, Construction subcontracts, Design & Engineering sourcing and Construction Management experience. Cost savings are an essential part of the role, but you will be an advisor to our clients’ internal construction teams supporting each of them with value engineering where appropriate and identifying and building new supplier relationships that help maintain costs and improve quality.  As a Category leader for the Facilities and Construction Category you will be called to develop strategies that address both Total Cost of Ownership as well as operational inefficiencies.  The Director, Strategic Sourcing - Facilities will report to the Managing Director, leading the client account team.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead engagements with senior client stakeholders for all Facilities Services across multiple sites and campuses.
  • Lead engagements with senior client stakeholders to understand development/capital plans and develop longterm sourcing strategies for large, capital intensive Construction and Facilities projects.
  • Provide leadership to develop appropriate resource plan and structure related to a best-in-class construction and capital strategic sourcing plan, including benchmarking and ROI analysis.
  • Develop and gain client stakeholder agreement on strategic sourcing strategies that deliver operational improvements and cost savings while maintaining supply chain continuity and performance.
  • Assess prospective clients spend, processes and project management to develop sourcing strategies and savings targets that aid in the business development process.
  • Assess client supply chains in relation to the construction projects for new builds and remodels of their various facilities (office, manufacturing, warehouse, retail, etc), identifying and communicating any risks that could compromise their strategic development plans.
  • Coordinate across teams to implement an aggregated construction and capital equipment strategic sourcing roadmap and timeline to enable Supply Chain operations resource planning and budget development.
  • Areas this role is responsible sourcing and managing include:
    • Construction Materials: Furniture, Fixtures, Equipment, Lighting, Flooring, Signage
    • Warehouse/DC Fixtures & Equipment: Material Handling Equipment, Warehouse Racking
    • Design Services: Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design
    • Construction Services: General Contractors, Construction Management, Permitting
  • Demonstrated capability to proactively manage assigned projects and maximize value, minimize risk, and ensure quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Build, manage and execute RFPs; meet with potential participants, both incumbents and non-incumbents, answer RFP related questions from suppliers, analyze RFP results and make supplier recommendations to client stakeholders.
  • Negotiate best pricing and service through the application of LogicSource’s sourcing methodology, ensuring all buying complies with client policies and procedures.
  • Build a best-in-class supply chain; cultivate and manage relationships with best-in-class suppliers.
  • Implement and adhere to the supplier management structure and process.
  • Create a database of supplier pricing and pricing agreements, including key performance metrics for service quality, inventory management, volume and cost performance indicators that can be used for benchmarking and trending analysis.
  • Provide detailed cost analysis reports to LogicSource leadership team and stakeholders.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and problem-solving support for clients and on-site client teams for supported categories.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in Contruction Management, Engineering, or Technical related field.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years cross-functional experience in managing strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier management, and material management in a Constuction environment.
  • At least Four (4) years at Manager level, experience would include: Indirect procurement, supply chain management and developing RFPs and RFIs for facilties services and capital construction projects and related materials and services.
  • Direct client interfacing, preferably senior level management.
  • Strong problem solving and leadership skills combined with a genuine intellectual curiosity.
  • Proven ability building relationships and gaining credibility in areas beyond defined scope of work.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a fast-paced, evolving and dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in financial analysis and planning.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time/project management skills.

 

Travel: This position may require occasional travel.
